Why does my horse require a Massage? I am often asked. My reply
is that your horse is an Athlete and should therefore receive the treatment an athlete would! It makes no difference what your horse is used for. As a horseowner you make sure that your horse's teeth don't get too bad, hooves don't get too long, that their saddle fits and that they get fed properly. Why not also make sure that their muscles aren't sore as well? Equine Sports
Massage is also an important part of your horse's health, it assists in enhancing optimum performance and should be viewed to be of equal importance on the path to your goal. Equine Massage is not a new concept, it is a practice which has been in existence since
early Roman times. The early Romans and Chinese understood that massage contributed to their animals overall
health. Holistic wellness was central to their system of health care and great value was
placed on the animals they used on the farm or to defend their land. Sports massage is invaluable in muscle injury recovery, it increases flexibility and reduces
physical and mental stress. Joint problems, torn or over extended ligaments and muscles,
injury and surgery are some of the more common ailments which benefit from massage.
